The Hargeysa, Somaliland , October 15, 2005 (SL Times) – The KULMIYE opposition party won 8 of the Hargeysa region’s 20 parliamentary seats while UDUB and UCID grabbed 6 seats each. According to preliminary results announced earlier today by the National Electoral Commission, a total of 256341 votes were cast in the Hargeysa region of which 2750 were cancelled as invalid votes. The names of the 20 party candidates who won the parliamentary contest in the Hargeysa region are as follows:
