Mogadishu, April 29, 2004 (KBC) – The deputy governor of Hiiraan Region central Somalia, Abdullahi Ali Koof, Wednesday in a press statement issued from the headquarters of the region's administration in Beled Weyne town, said the Hiiraan administration has decided to ban all Kenyan passport holders from entering the region.
The ban also extends to those Kenyan passport holders already in the region.

The Hiiraan deputy governor also praised the Puntland administration for the stern action it had taken against Kenyan passport holders, adding it was the responsibility of every Somali person to protect the dignity and honor of the Somali nation.

The deputy governor also urged the Somali peace talks delegates currently in Mbagathi, Kenya, to ask for the relocation of the talks to one of the neighboring countries.

The delegates should leave Kenya without waiting for the relocation of the talks, Mr. Koof added.

The official further urged the Somali business people to suspend their trade relations with Kenya.
