Addis Ababa, June 5, 2004 (SL Times) – The Case of Somaliland was raised for the first time at a meeting of the African Union’s Commission, held last week in Addis Ababa.
According to Jawahir Mohamed Ali Sheikh Madar, Somaliland’s case was brought up by the Ambassador of one of the member states to the commission. Mrs. Jawahir declined to disclose any further information on the subject.
She, however, described the move as significant for sensitizing the African Union member states toward Somaliland’s case.
