NAIROBI, September 15, 2004 (KBC) -- A member of parliament Farah Hassan Muhammad (Farahsiyad), who is one of the MPs in the recently formed Somali parliament died in Nairobi Tuesday night.
The deceased, who fell off a vehicle two days ago and broke his leg, was admitted to a hospital in Nairobi, where he was undergoing treatment.

Most of the MPs Wednesday attended the burial of the deceased who was buried in Nairobi.

The death of the MP has occurred when the parliament is due to elect a Speaker Wednesday, a position that is being contested by many people.

The current interim Speaker has insisted that the election will be held Wednesday while other MPs have suggested its postponement due to the death of the MP.
