Hargeisa (SL Times) – The first president of post-liberated Somaliland, Abdirahman Ahmed Ali, was buried on Thursday in Hargeisa. He died in London in the early hours of last Saturday.

Abdirahman Ahmed Ali became Somaliland’s president in 1991. He was the chairman of the SNM when Somaliland was liberated in January 1991.
Thousands of Somalilanders from all over the country took part in the funeral to bid the late president their last fare well.

President Dahir Rayale Kahin, vice President Ahmed Yusuf Yasin, and chairmen of both Houses of Parliament also attended the funeral ceremonies.
