The Merchants of Hate Struck Again

"Haatuf" news's correspondent report on the Awdalite community's level of support for Somaliland and its metamorphosis through the years is replete with lies, unsubstantiated assertions and uncorroborated information. The mambo Jumbo report was short on the methodology of data collection, the assessment tools used, how he conducted his interviews, how many people he interviewed and whom he interviewed.
The report was lacking the format or mythology he followed while collecting his information. There is a basic format most social scientists and others follow called the who, what, where, how and why format. There is another research methodology mostly used by scientists and to some extent by other disciplines also called the scientific method. Apparently the so-called reporter used non of the afore-mentioned methodologies.
In the scientific method, a question is formed, data is collected on the question, a hypotheses is made, and will be tested through observations, experiments and other methods. Inferences are made based on the collected data and then finally a conclusion is drawn regarding that tested information and collected data.
The saying goes" If it quakes like a duck, walks like a duck it is a duck". Therefore it is crystal clear the "Haatuf" news's correspondent report was nothing but his twisted opinion and wishful thinking tinged with clannish undertones and deep-seated hatred . This very correspondent and "Haatuf" itself seems to be always writing factually challenged reports and lies about the "Awdalite" community.
No other region in " Somaliland " is exposed to the sustained, unreasonable, unprovoked and targeted propaganda attacks against the "Awdalite" community from this tabloid trash. I am not hearing any other region that has been exposed to anything comparable, to the cheap and unfounded propaganda barrages this trash tabloid, and its so-called correspondents have been waging against the state of "Awdal". The reason behind these endless attacks coming from this tabloid paper in particular and others in general so far eludes me.
Their reports usually are not facts but mostly based on tired clan supremacist talking points of the eighties, when the former Somalia degenerated into a clan killing fields. Clearly many of the people who work for this lowly tabloid are brimming with latent hatred towards the Awdalite community. These kinds of smear exercises has no place in the modern Somaliland Republic , where the building of a non clannish nation state has marked a remarkable milestone in September, 29 when parliamentary elections were held. These tabloid papers are surely far behind the people's attitudes and the country's political level of maturity.
Most of the reports on the "Awdalite community" is heavy on false stories replete with unnecessary and old clan hatred. I know very little about the people involved in this center of smear, but their disdain and enormous hatred for the "Awdalite" community is indisputable.
I never read the writings of such lowly tabloids, but I am hearing from reliable sources that, their fixation on collecting unfounded negative information on the Awdalite community is phenomenal. Let me tell this amateurish and unethical center of lies and fabrication, that they are embarking on the wrong tree. This community is peaceful, fair and strongly believes on justice but they are merciless towards the prophets of uncalled for clan hatred, and outsiders who venture to define them. It is about time for the local "Awdalite" media to deal with these persistent agents of hatred and provocateurs of clan sentiments which have been substantially declined for the last ten years, thanks to the " Somaliland " people and their government.
Our collective outrage towards the prophets of hatred of all stripes, regardless of their clan and ethnic origin is of paramount importance. People like those who are stuck on old and negative ideas and unsubstantiated generalizations and propaganda, must be collectively condemned and stopped on their tracts. These merchants of hate must be put to account.
Conclusion
These tabloid trash failed to mention that the support for the state of Somaliland has been rising through out Somaliland for the last 10 years. They never mention the overwhelming support of the people of this land to their Republic , was directly as a result of the enhancement of governance, the maintenance of the rule of law, the establishment of civil society institutions, the building of institutions of higher learning and the improvement of civil rights and human rights.
They must also know with or without Rayaale, the proud people of the state of Awdal and Gabiley district will forever remain Somalilanders and will fully support their emerging democratic state. Let me tell this lowly paper, that the Somaliland phenomena is a work in progress which is not completely perfect yet but steadily improving in all departments. One department they would have to put President Rayaale to account was why he is so paranoid of independent media and particularly "Radio". If they were a genuine media , they would have to ask questions in the lines of, was he totally against all kinds of free media including print and radio? or did he want them to go through the legal channels and obtain government license?.
