Stockholm, Sweden, April 1, 2006 – The Speaker of Somaliland House of Representatives (lower house of parliament) Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Erro) met on Wednesday with Annika Söder, State Secretary for International Development Cooperation at the ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Swedish official and Abdirahman Erro had discussions on the situation in Somaliland and Somalia.

Ms. Söder told Erro that the Swedish government followed with keen interest the positive developments that have been taking place in Somaliland particularly recent parliamentary elections that were successfully conducted.

A Swedish delegation led by Ambassador and Special Envoy Marika Fahlen will visit Somaliland shortly to assess areas of future cooperation between the two countries, it was announced following the meeting.

Erro also met with a number of parliamentarians who are members of the select committee on Foreign Affairs. He was also received by the mayor of Stockholm.
