Garowe, April 29, 2006 – In previous articles we reported on a spate of murders committed by militias from Majeerteenya in such places as Majiyahan, Wajid and Baidoa. Qandala is also one place where militias from Majeerteenya committed acts of violence. But it looks like Majeerteenya’s militias are not satisfied with inflicting violence on Somalis and Somalia, so they have expanded their targets to include Asia and Europe. For instance, on April 24, 2006, a court in Bangkok, Thailand, sentenced three individuals (Yusuf Aden Seed, Mohamud Abdillahi Jama, Hussein Abdillahi Aden) from Majeerteenya to a ten years jail sentence each for piracy and criminal activities. Also, in London, warlord Abdillahi Yusuf’s security guards beat up a Somali reporter, Mr. Abdinasir Guure Faarax (Jeer), for trying to see the warlord.
