Building Integrity To Fight Corruption:‎‎

“Great spirits have encountered violent oppositions from mediocre minds” (Albert Einstein).

My name is Hashi Hassan Hashi Urdooh. I have been out of my motherland for over 20 years, coming back was an honor. While I was over seas, Somaliland went through a catastrophic and horrific ordeal. I feel agonized when I listen to the brave women and men who dealt with this bitter situation. But make no mistake the sons and daughters of this soil came back from dead with flying colors; Where in Africa or the world for that matter, do we see a de facto unrecognized nation with full administration, sustainable peace and stability but with no bilateral aid nor development assistance? Somaliland has remarkably maintained those achievements for-nearly a decade and half, two million people have returned home with little or almost no reintegration assistances from the international communities. It is worth mentioning on such a commendable effort but regrettably, in spite of these and more achievements my land continues to encounter deaf ears mainly by the African world and Arab countries, notably Egypt. Regardless of what the rest of the world thinks, I deeply love this land; after all, (ALAH ALL MIGHTY) gives independence.

Speaking of natural resources, Somaliland is blessed with great deal of potentialities particularly major deposits of Verities of rarely found precious items let us take advantage of them my fellow Somalilanders. Now I have come to the finale of my short anecdote, allow me to thank first and foremost ALLAH THE ALLMIGHTY, second I would like to briefly mention few People I admire and shall forever remember. My father and mother, for giving me their love, my grandparents, for being patient while I was abroad, my uncles, whom shared their Wisdom with me, and last but definitely not least my friends Abdillahi Omar (Director General for MRR&R), Abdul-rah man Abokor (consultant for MRR&R) who held me with an iron Fist before I fell back into culture shock and finally Abdi-wahab Ahmed Yasin, who through his expertise in geology, fed me an amble amount of knowledge about our great mountains and It's ever rich minerals. My deepest humble to all. I left home at a fragile age; I was always missing something that I could not figure out. Now I found out the missing link which is coming back home, one of the best things that ever happened to me.
