Building Integrity To Fight Corruption:‎‎

Abdikarim Hajji Ibrahim, Ottawa, Canada

On behalf of the family of the late Hajji Ibrahim Nur Jama. I would like to send my congratulations on Somaliland's 15th Anniversary to His Excellency President Dahir Rayale Kahin and to the First lady Huda Barkhat Aden.

I would also like to convey similar messages to the Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament , Senates(Guurti) Members and all Government officials both at local and central levels. And also my best wishes go to my people around the world and particularly those who are living in Somaliland and enjoying the freedom of their country and striving to make their country an example in Africa. May Allah guide us to the right path and help us achieve our goals through his means…Aamiin".

I may also say to my follow Somali neighbors in South I hope you will follow the Peaceful path that Somaliland has taken and liberate yourself of those warlords particularly the Homeless so called President and his power hungry warlords.

Somaliland has regained its sovereignty and integrity after going through almost thirty years of deception and destruction imposed by Siyad Barre regime by using a colonial policy of divide and rule "Attack this clan today, and spare this for another day in order to create mistrust among the clans " We tell the enemies of Somaliland that you succeeded to deceive us one time but you can not deceive us forever. We have only one piece of advice for your "Please mind your business and find solution for your own problem god willing and forget about Somaliland."

I would like to share a little experience with my fellow Somali Landers around the globe but before let me first introduce myself: my name is Abdikarim Hajji Ibrahim Nur, the son of late Hajji Ibrahim Nur Jama who passed away 16 October , 1987, former Somaliland statesman and one of the first four Cabinet Ministers who have signed first Independence of what used to be Somaliland protectorate from British colony on 26th June, 1960 with late President Mohamed Hajji Ibrahim Egal, Ali Garad and Ahmed Abdullah Kayse. Only Kayse is alive today. Let me pray for the soul of the our deceased statesmen. May they all rest peacefully in Paradise. Their struggle will not be forgotten and all those who died for the cause of the re-birth of the nation of Somaliland. Long Live Somaliland.

Let us keep up the good work. What we have demonstrated so far is beyond expectation. We have elected our President, local government councils and a parliament through peaceful manner though may not be perfect. I am sure that one day soon we will achieve our aspirations for a good and fair system of representation. It is now time for us to bolster the foundations that we laid down in the conferences of Awdal and Togdheer.

I would like to conclude my message that no matter our differences we can have a healthy debate about the destiny of our nation but let me remind you we have to be careful of committing anything that may hinder our sovereignty. My message is addressed to all parties, civilians, intellectuals, elders, religious leaders, youth, women, mothers and all members of Somaliland citizens around the globe. May Allah be with Us. ..Aamiin.

This is my sincere opinion and belief
