June 20th, 2006

We, the establishing committee of the Friends of the University of Burao (FUB), hereby inform the general public that FUB organization has recently selected a new Board of Directors for its works of altruistic nature for the University of Burao. The new board members will hold office for two consecutive years as per FUB bylaws. (Please see www.fuburao.org for further information about the functions of this non-profit organization).

And the newly appointed board members are:

1. Dr. Abdisalan Yassin, Saudi Arabia, chairperson

2. Mr. Ibrahim Barre Nur, UAE, Vice-chairperson

3. Madame Zeinab Mohamed Ajib, Qatar, Secretary

4. Mr. Faysal Elmi, UK, Treasurer

5. Prof. Hussein Hassan Gulaid, Norway, Educational Representative

6. Dr. Saad Ali Shire, UK, Public Relations Representative.

It is also important to note that the objective goal of this new organization, FUB, along with its new executive board members, is to provide a leadership in the process of creating an endowment fund for education for the university of Burao. And the new money from this endowment fund will principally be used for hiring able professors, who can bring world-standard methodological tools of teaching, scholarship and research into the field of higher education in Somaliland. Our intention here is to attract a new episteme community, over time, which would be able to device pedagogy for paradigmatic learning.

On behalf of FUB members from around the globe, we, therefore, would like to take this opportunity to congratulate these eminent persons within our society, who have accepted this awesome responsibility from all of us. We wish them lots of success in their work and will forever be grateful to them for their dedication and passion for their country and its people.

Yours truly,

For the establishing committee,
Yusuf Dubad Suleiman
Al Ain, UAE
