By Mohamed J. Dhinbil, Connecticut / USA. It has been said or written a lot against the president, Mr. Dahir Rayale, however, what has been missing from the arena is where have been the other two branches of government (the parliament and the judiciary) plus the council of elders. Either all the allegations and accusations that have been made against the executive branch, particularly the president in person, are phony and non existent with the exception of the jailed journalists, or the other three bodies of government are as much to blame for and have failed the nation miserably. They shouldn't have remained complacent and indifferent seeing that their young republic has been hijacked and has been riding a roller-coaster traveling through deep winding lopes that could possibly led towards it's own destruction and disintegration. Someone can infer from these three bodies their lack of action, intervention, or involvement in the following assumptions: 1) That they don't have the intellectual capacity to foresee the possible outcomes if the current course is maintained. 2) That they are far gone and fear for their lives- meaning there is a dictatorship around the horizon. 3) That they are happy with the status-quo. 4) That they are themselves the culprits in this case 5) That there is nothing worthy of the governments attention- meaning everything is fine. Whatever the case is I hope I am wrong, so God bless us and show us the right path. It is mind-boggling and hard to believe that the three journalists are still in jail. Mr. president, you are wrong at this occasion. Freedom of speech is everyone's interest. This is not a winning argument Mr. president to keep them in jail. LET THE THREE JOURNALISTS GO FREE. How to do it? Mr. President, I will encourage you to read Dr. Mohamud Sheikh Hassan Tani's article entitled, “No special treatment for you, Mr. President. Here is an excerpt from the Doctor's article: "The right course for the president was to hire a lawyer and sue the paper for libel and let justice take its course and accept whatever the fate holds for him." Further more there are many articles that were written about the young republic's plight. Among the many, there are two that get my attention and I would like you Mr. President to read them at your own pleasure, whenever you may have the opportunity to do so. The two are "Gadabursi Manifesto - part I and II" written by Dr. Abdishakur " and "The staggering failures and arrogance of the current administration and the ruling party" written by scholar Hassan A. Mohamud. These two articles contain very valuable information that can shed light on some of the problems that the nation has been placed upon. Such problems include but not limited to advise, corruption, freedom of the press, freedom of the airwaves, poor record and performance, lack of recognition, separation of powers, and Somaliland's territorial jurisdiction. I don't like to use words of stereotyping but I must say that I really admire and respect deeply the writings submitted to the media and written by some of the best and brightest members of the president's family. Too often Somalis don't go against one of their own, but these scholars must be applauded for what they have done. THIS IS A TRUE LEADERSHIP AT IT'S BEST. I hope other Somalilanders will learn something from this experience and do the same in similar situations. Let us all defend the constitution against all foes. Somaliland foes are sprouting out from all over the places and coming out from all directions, behaving like an aggressive invasive plant species introduced into new area either accidentally or purposely where they in no time flourished and soon took over the whole area by destroying the native species. Such plant species are difficult if not impossible to control or contain them once they get established in an area due to mainly absence of their natural predators, insects, diseases in their newly introduced environment. We don't need to raise a monster, we did raise one in the past and we all know what happened at the end. it ate and destroyed us. Wish you all for peace and milk (NABAD IYO CAANO)
