The Satanic Sentences |

ISSUE 266
|
I am somewhat disturbed and saddened by the satanic sentences posted in some of the Somaliland Sites(Awdalnews;Somaliland.org; Saylac.com; etc) under the title of: “President Rayaale: Prophet of Democracy” (By: A. Sigad). I am therefore, hereby officially responding to Mr. Sigad’s Article, in order perhaps to feel less stressed by this whole episode. I would like to start, if I may, with a short story from a tragic incident that took place when I was probably a young man (teenager): One very hot, sunny and dusty day (between 1980-81), I went to visit a very popular place known as the Avenue 26 in Djibouti, as usual to see friends and to hear some of the latest news and information around the region/world etc. On my arrival, I noticed that there was something very unusual about that particular day as the people kept gathered themselves into groups. I vividly remember the faces of some of them filled with tears and sadness. Within a short while I was greeted by a taller and much older guy than myself who was originally from the Awdal City of Boon. After the handshake greetings, I asked him what happened. And, GUESS what he said….?! He said: “Nabigiibaa Dhintay” (The Prophet is Dead), he then poised a few seconds to show his sadness about the dead prophet before he continued to elaborate a little bit further and said: “Prophet Cawaale Bustaale (Rahmatullah Alleyhi) is dead’. At that stage, I had initially forgotten the first word about the ‘Prophet’ (Nabi) by the shock of the fact that a great man, who was admired and loved much by all of us, had actually died in a very tragic way. However, later that day I was puzzled as to whether or not the word of Nabi (Prophet) was the appropriate one to say. Well, in a nutshell, I was reluctant to believe that it was OK to consider a great leader like Cawaale Bustaale (AUN) as ‘the Prophet’. Coming to the point; ‘however I wish to be a young man forever’, I am NO longer that young teenager, who was once childishly bluffed by his mind to believe that it was quite alright to say ‘the prophet’ to emphasize how strongly one admires a great leader. I am therefore totally and utterly disappointed in my friend Mr. Abdalla Farah Sigad (Also from Boon!) to call the President (Also from Qulujeed!) as ‘the Prophet’. There are other ways in which Mr. Sigad could have made his point and to show his support of the President. But, he lost the plot by praising the President as the Prophet of Democracy and even then to accelerate further deep down to mock about other Religion related issues. I might have probably agreed with some elements in his article as I used to do, if only he would have been much more careful and sensible about saying certain things. I would really love to make all sorts of excuses to get my friend Mr. Sigad out of the Hook, but I can think NONE at all at this moment. For instance If Mr. Sigad was born here in the UK or arrived as a young boy I would have argued that there is indeed culture clash issue. However, Mr. Sigad was neither born here in the UK nor arrived as a young boy but arrived as a mature man. He is also a great poet and a wonderful Somali language writer which proves his advanced knowledge of the Somali language/literature and culture. Besides, he is from a well respected Family with very good religious background as well as traditional upright. So I have NO an iota of defense to save his neck from being hanged in the Awdal City of Boon. So, be it: To prove that Mr. Sigad’s statement was nothing but the Satanic Sentences, I have conducted an extensive research of my own through the following questions:
From my research I have concluded that: Within the Muslim Religion as well as the Somali Culture, the combined words of ‘the Prophet’ can only be used to indicate a messenger from Allah for Religious duty, and thus the Prophet Mohammed (SCWS) is the greatest example. Having considered all facts in hand there is NO alternative way by which the term of ‘the Prophet’ to be construed. In other words, ‘in the commonly understood of the term’, there is no such as ‘the prophet of Democracy’ permissible within our religion and culture but only ‘the prophet of Allah’ who is sent by Allah to convey his Message to Mankind. To associate Allah with ‘the Prophet of Democracy by saying that: “God (Allah) has blessed Somaliland by giving the prophet of Democracy” is far more dangerous game to play with, than one can imagine. Allah did not choose the President of S/Land to be ‘the Prophet of Democracy’ or the Prophet of anything at all, but simply to be his slave and to serve him as well as the S/Land people. And the good leader, who serves his Master (Allah) and his people well, is the one who follows the Allah’s Rule of Law which is the Holly Quran as a constitution. The simple question here is, since when Allah (Subxaana Wa Tacaalaa) has ever sent a Messenger of Democracy to Mankind?? However this may sound to be beside the point, I still wonder as to what Mr. Sigad would have said about the Evil Dictator of the USA (George Bush) who wholeheartedly believes that he is indeed a God sent, to conquer the world with his idiotic ideology of Democracy?. It is also naivety to compare some members of the Gadabuursi clan with that of the Qureyshi clan, when ‘the real Prophet of Mohamad (Peace Be upon Him) was first chosen by Allah to spread his message. Allah has made the Gadabuursi clan as well as all the other Somali clans to be a Moslem Nation that had already accepted the Message of Allah through his most beloved Prophet (Mohammad SCWS). Therefore, they have nothing to gain but everything to lose by supporting or believing in a “Dictator in the shadow of Democracy”. But the Qureyshi clan in pre-history had everything to gain to believe in the Messenger of Allah and everything to lose by disbelieving him. And there is no HELL or HEAVEN on earth, other than that of the King (Allah) of the Day the Judgment (Malikul Yoomul-Diin) had explained to us crystal clear in his Quran as to What Where, When, and Which goes by Who?. Therefore to say someone will go to hell in dictatorship if they refuse the prophet of Democracy or will go to Paradise in democracy if they support the prophet of democracy is another lack of moral judgment with a fantasy in vanity. In overall conclusion : The President is the President, and will be the President so long as Allah wishes him to be there to serve the people of S/Land. The President had accepted to carry huge responsibility on his shoulders for the nation upon which he will then be precisely judged and rewarded for what he does right or wrong by the Almighty Allah alone. Some people admire the current President for their own reasons; likewise some people are not impressed by him at all; whilst some others are not even bothered, unaware and, untouched by his presence as a president. However, NO single Somali/Muslim person will ever gain any positive popularity, publicity, and credibility to show love, affection and support of the President by praising him as ‘the Prophet of this and that’. This is due to the fact that saying certain things in the most public arenas loudly and arrogantly is beyond our Religious, cultural and traditional boundaries. Hence, to cite or say something beyond those precincts, is senseless, sinful, and simply “the Satanic Sentences”. I DO hope that my friend Abdalle Farah Sigad Gadiid will say “Acuudu Bilaahi Mina Shaydaani Rajiim” and “Istaqfurulaah” and NEVER repeat the same mistake EVER again. OR ELSE, what we said about his neck in Boon will be a mission to be accomplished. ! Nabad iyo Caano {I am particularly praying for peace and peace and nothing but peace and peace for the people in Daroor and all other parts of S/land and Somalia } HiilDan |
