June 18, 2007 – The Sulphur Sunrise Rotary Club announced last week that phase two of the Clock Tower Memorial Brick campaign is underway.

"It's time to finish the walkway around the Clock Tower," said Sulphur Sunrise Treasurer Chris Gregory. "Both Rotary Clubs will be selling memorial bricks over the next couple of weeks so we can finish the project."

Interested parties may contact Gregory at 625-5665 for more information.

In other other Rotary business, the Club will hold its annual awards banquet this evening at Marilyn's Veranda in Sulphur. Individual Rotarians will be recognized for their efforts in the community and installation ceremonies will be held for the new officers.

President Larry Agee reported on his trip to Shreveport where he was part of fundraising efforts for ShelterBox. The Shreveport Club held a "Bragging Meeting" where club members could pay a fine and brag about their business or family. Fines will be used to purchase a ShelterBox in the Club's name.

Agee will also be traveling to Somalia in September or October as part of the "Million in Africa" program. ShelterBox, USA plans to put one million ShelterBoxes in Africa by the end of the year. Agee and fellow workers will be traveling Somaliland, a country in the northern part of the horn of Africa, formerly part of Somalia.

There will be no meeting on June 22nd. The next Sulphur Sunrise Rotary meeting will be on June 29th and Sheriff Tony Mancuso is scheduled to speak.
