Qaran Party Press Release |

Issue 288

Press Release Qaran is an offspring of a popular movement brought about by the neglect, corruption and incompetence of the current administration in Somaliland, and as such, it is very keen in closely following the wishes and aspirations of its supporters. Qaran, like the people in Somaliland chooses peace over war, negotiations over armed conflict, respect for the laws (local and international) and peaceful coexistence with its neighbors. In this very politically charged environment it is easy to hurl insults and baseless accusations toward one’s opponent, but the current S/Land administration sunk to new lows when it accuses us to be a destabilizing force in the country engaged in unlawful activities without providing a single shred of evidence to substantiate their outrageous claims. And to this end they are threatening to arrest the entire leadership of the Qaran movement. This is not going to achieve their goals, because it is too late for them to stop the wishes and aspirations of the people of S/Land, and nothing they do can change that. The fact of the matter is that the only membership any of us have or belong to is the Qaran party, and the only people we follow are our supporters, and the only goals we have are those sought by all peace loving people throughout the world. They may arrest us, but they can never stop us, we have the law and the people on our side and we will stand firm on this solid ground. It is abundantly clear to all that when the administration realized its fast eroding support from the populace, and not having anything to offer to gain back their support, it is engaging in this smear campaign in an effort to confuse the issue and sell the only commodity it has…….Fear! We urge all citizens of S/Land, whether at home or abroad to consider all the evidence at hand and see whether it can stand under the glare of the sun before lending any credence to the delusions of a drowning entity grasping at imaginary straws.
