Erigavo, 8 September, 2007 - We are getting reports from Sanag region in Badhan district that the S/land armed forces have during the week repositioned themselves in Shimbirale, a small settlement 10-15km east of Badhan town.

S/land armed forces have entered the district of Badhan in Sanag region and may well head towards the districts capitol, Badhan town, 106km east of Erigavo.

P/land has confirmed that its forces have been put on high alert in Badhan district as a result of S/land’s forces taking up new positions close to Badhan town.

These latest reports were confirmed by P/land, although S/land has not acknowledged the accuracy of this report, nor made any statements.

The P/land governor of Sanag, Mr Muhammud Saeed Noor in Garowe, the administrative capitol of P/land speaking to a local media ‘AllPuntland’ said that “the P/land forces have been repositioned to an area not so far from those of S/land forces who have, recently, occupied ‘Shimbirale’ village, and that P/land forces have take up defensive positions in Badhan”.
