Dear sir
I would like to comment on the article by Mohamed Mukhtar Ibrahim, London.
Quote:
"In terms of crime, the Somali community is not perfect and you are likely to see a Somali youngster snatching a mobile like any other teenager or an open-faced Somali man driving a car illegally but there is no single Somali person that has been charged with any terrorist act. "
Mr. Ibrahim should gets his facts right, and also accept there is a very serious problem within crime and the Somali community.
This year in the UK there has been two very high profile trials of Somali "youngsters".
Mustaf Jama and Yusuf Jama (Somali brothers) convicted of the brutal killing of a female police officer.
Yassin Omar, born in Somalia has been charged and convicted of a terrorist act 21st July 2005 London.
The above where found guilty. Its no wonder the UK public perception of Somali immigrants is negative.
All over the Internet USA, Canada and Europe - Google search "Somali Terrorist" brings up 1.9 million web pages.
Regards
Marcus Geiger, London, UK
