By Abdalle Farah Sigad

Las-Anod proved that no mighty military can ever seized the tiniest town if it doesn’t have the support of its inhabitants.

For very long time many people were blaming the current Somaliland administration by not making any effort to capture Las-Anod. But any sensible person knew that if Somaliland government tried to go in to Las-Anod without the approval of Las-Anod’s population, they would have never had the chance to capture it. “And Somaliland government’s approach was the correct one

Today thanks to Allah (SWT), without too much bloodshed our brothers and sisters in Las-Anod are with us, and we need to welcome them not with gunpoints but with open arms and cuddles.

Due to the nature they were living in for the last four years Las-Anoder’s need to be giving a time to reflect the differences between their past with Puntland bandits and their present time with the nation of peace ( Somaliland )

The responsibility to well come Las Anoders doesn’t only rest on the shoulders of the current administration but all of us need to listen and respect their wishes.

Indeed this victory over Majeertenia was easy, because Las Anoders chose where their fate lays, but the hard bit is not over yet. We need to show Las-Anoders why they are better off to stick with us rather than their cousins (Majeerteen). And to be frankly speaking the old slogans of territorial integrity won’t really work if Las Anoders don’t get their share in Somaliland .

I am also please that Las-Anod is free, because for while Somaliland depressingly seemed two clan state as some idiotic and uncivilized Somalilanders made it to look like. However we still need to take some radical solutions, in order to make Las Anders feel at home, and some of these actions may include terminating the few racist people and their ideologies from our cities.

In conclusion

Somaliland leadership was right to be patience with our brothers and sister in Las-Anod. And President Rayale took the correct decision when he chose to spread the wisdom of peace instead of bloodshed. I am also glad no animosity had been created between the people of Awdal who held the presidency and the people of sool. This bloodless victory was worth to wait indeed. But what is next need to be discussed.
