ODM-Kenya presidential candidate Kalonzo Musyoka

Nairobi, December 23, 2007 - ODM-Kenya presidential candidate Kalonzo Musyoka has said that his Government would make sure that the neighboring war torn country of Somalia becomes a member of the East African Community if he forms the next Government.

Mr Musyoka said if ODM Kenya forms the next Government it would ensure that peace returned to Somalia and the country was integrated in the EAC.

“If I form the next Government I would use by long experience as foreign minister and embark on a peacemaking process that would see the people of Somalia resolve their differences and live in harmony,” he said.

The ODM-K presidential candidate was speaking at Malindi Stadium where he also campaigned for the party’s parliamentary candidate, Mr. Lucas Maitha.

Mr. Musyoka said his Government would revive all collapsed projects in Coast province and expand the Malindi airport to allow the landing of direct flights from Europe and other destinations.
