Translation of cartoon:

Minister of Information: "Now, look here my good man [i.e, local media], I don't know what all the fuss is about? Not even the Americans can tolerate a ‘Free Press’ when it comes to….Al-Jasira..!”

Presidential Press Advisor & Spokesman: "[O] come on, it's not all that bad. We've just added extra clauses ‘here and there’ [in new Press Law] and omitted one or two from the old 'Press Law'. Now, be a good chap and stand still, while I remove this Pedestal [of Peace & Stability] from under your feet."

Cartoon first appeared in the Somali 'Haatuf Daily newspaper' on 19/11/2007 [vol 6 - issue 1577] in Hargeysa, Somaliland.
