Baidoa, November 24, 2007 (SL Times) Siyad Barre’s Security court prosecutor in 1981-1989 Nuur Hasan Huseen (Nuur Ade) has been appointed as Somalia’s new prime minister of the TFG government.

The new prime minister served as the secretary general of Somalia’s Red Crescent since 1991.

Even though the new prime minister held a number of high posts during the reign of Siyad Barre’s dictatorship, most of the Somali people, particularly Somalilanders, remember him in his job as prosecutor in the security court in 1981-1989, where he used to give harsh sentences including death-sentences and life-imprisonment. The list of his victims include animal herders, farmers, businessmen, intellectuals and military officers.

Mr. Nur Ade is not the only person in the Somali Transitional Federal Government (TFG) who has a bad record in human rights. The Somali Transitional Federal Government ( TFG) that was cobbled together in Mbagathi is stacked with human rights violators, beginning with the so-called “President” Abdillahi Yusuf and the newly nominated “Prime Minister”, Mr Nur Ade, all the way down to General Morgan, the commander of the TFG’s forces in Mogadishu.
