Dear philosopher if we could bring you back

The Paradox of African Democracy: So How Things Got Mixed Up?

By Abdale Farah Sigad:

My fellow Somalis I am saddened to hear the death of Hassan Sheikh Momin one of the most talented playwright in Somali history, and the exceptional Somali philosopher of twenty century. Indeed Hassan Sheikh Mumin was irreplaceable legend and will be missed among the Somali speaking nations. But while I am sending my condolence to his family I would also like to add small words of poetry since we are paying tribute to a man who dedicated his life to offer intellectually entertainment for his fellow Somalis.

Condolence poem

Our beloved philosopher
We heard you are gone
And we are saddened by this news.

If we could bring you back again
For one more hour or day
We would express all our untold appreciations.
Dear legend if we could bring you back again
We would say how much we treasured you
And that your presence in our nation
Meant more than we ever knew.

If we could bring you back again to
Tell you what we should, you would
Know how much we missed you now.

Dear philosopher your body and soul may gone
To a far away place where only angels can see

But your inspirations and lights which
You left behind are shining like a full moon.

Your rich words are being played in every
Corner of this world.

Our be loved hero we heard your soul has gone away
And we are sadden by the news

But we are comforting each other by playing
Your best lyrics and explaining them one another.

We will remember you in the days of peace
When the nation is progressing wealthy
By playing and watching on your best plays

And so dearly we remember you the days of wars
By listening your up lifting lyrics.

As the rising of the sun and its going down
We will remember you.

We will indeed remember you
In many centuries to come.

Our beloved philosopher we heard
You are gone and there is little we can do
To bring you back.

But we pray for you
May Allah bless for your soul

AAMIIN
