I n the case of Somaliland, they wronged them selves when they let the wrong people to rule them until they ruined them morally, psychologically and even culturally!
In the case of Somaliland, count the days until the end of the month of March 2009
1) if fair elections and change will not be produced 2) if the thugs who as it seems sub-contracted from an IGAD member state to destabilize Somaliland not be stopped, then she may unfortunately join her sister Somalia in the disgrace and the dementia Somalia was in for along time, Together they may go in to the oblivion, in to a dark hole of no return, for a long, long time, god knows how long!
Resuscitation would come only when change comes, therefore change ought to come and Kulmiye must lead that change courageously, gut sly and collectively. They must educate the people in this end, particularly the young gun toting misdirected and misled kids.
In the case of Somalia, don’t count any thing soon because things happened and happen out side the Somalia bounders and out side the Somalia interest! The individuals collected by foreign entities and organizations and what ever a government like was packaged there, services for those foreign entities made them after all! Somalia’s case is a none-Somalia package, a foreign package, foreign to the Somalia Street thus anesthetized deeper! Same old, same old! Only resuscitation would come when they own their own problems, refrain travelling all the time and instead stay in their Somalia!
Somaliland, which reclaimed its sovereignty and left the union with Somalia after years of struggle and survived ethnic cleansing, wrongly, idiotically shamefully empowered the Somaliland version of “Faqash”-the remnants of late Afwaini. That was beyond human logic under any circumstances! That was born in the name of reconciliation, reconciliation was good but they badly managed, that resulted the take over of power by the very Afwaini mind-set and they dug a hole, Somaliland may or may not come out!
The difference is that of all these misjudgments and mishaps, Somaliland exists thanks to the very patient but some times pathetic people there.
The show-me-the money deceptive hands run Somaliland wrongly are the villains there and that is the worrisome side of it!
Somalia on the other hand does not exist as a nation, not even a state! She only exists out side her boundary, in neighboring countries. And the foreign made packages want to run the country in long distance!
Looking for the next place to call them to package another pretend government when the one in hand exhausts. That is the difference between the two entities of Somalis, Somaliland and Somalia!
Similarities are, both of them are run by the remnants of Siyad Barre with Afwainian mind-set and thinking, even though they packaged two younger guys but very different orientation with no popular base and experience for Somalia in Djibouti, the third round there, and all the rounds preceded this never bore fruit! How this round will be different is to be seen. After all, this entire package is foreign to the Somalis in Somalia as the others before it were! Worrisome indeed! Same old, same old! Clans, revenging clans!
The two sisterly countries- Somaliland and Somalia were in circle for a long time.
They served for other countries, which cares their own interest, and never for the interest of the said Somali states. The two entities, did not look inwards, they looked outwards!
They lost their peoples trust! They dragged their people’s dignity and even the humanness and Somaliness of the Somali people everywhere!
They disgraced the ‘Somaliness’ each one in their way and means under their own set of circumstances and situations but together through their Afwainian thinking!
The people there were made slaves for the unconscionable pocket and belly so-called politicians bided and continued to bid to sub-contract as to disgrace the Somaliness and sell the hopes and aspirations of the different Somali states differently in exchange of Money!
The said thugs are running the affairs of the said Somali states as of this writing! One in long distance, the other in short distance but responds to their belly and pockets!
In the case of Somaliland the governing Remnants of late Afwaini put the life and the existence of what would be called Somaliland in forty-five days from this writing! However, that will depend on whether the people there are resuscitated by Kulmiye leadership People were deeply Anesthetized by the ruling remnants there by delivering money intended for this evil purpose to a very needy people from a well-known member state of the Egad countries. Those who want ill for Somaliland, but that will not be an excuse with people who sacrificed all they had-blood and treasure for Somaliland!
Count the days for Somaliland to exist or perish! But on the other side, that depends the consciousness of the people and the courage and gutsy of Kulmiye leadership. Still count the days for orphan Somaliland to be or not to be!
No body would clean one’s house with out exchange of sort, with no strings attached!
Somalia and Somaliland looked for other countries for their future and never among them selves! It is time to summon the Somali brain, which has been sleep for a long time. Let us come to the real world and come out from the dilution and to the real world!
The Somalia leaders has sold their conscience and the conscience of their country like a desperate prostitute bidding to any bidder of any amount with out knowing they became a ready pray for those who live on Somalia problems as their profit venture, in the form of project, in conjunction with the UN organizations, who like wise translated Somali problems as a mere project for those who chose them selves for this endeavor!
Somalilanders don’t know what their rulers did to Somaliland. Whether they sold her or just neglected her while pursuing their Betty personal profits, or whether the rulers are captives of Ignorance of mass destruction! An unfortunate situation to be in all cases! A foolish situation indeed!
Why doesn’t Somalia seek Somali solution than looking for imported foreign solutions imposed on them? In fact chosen by the empty headed dwarfs represents her, in pursuit of profits!
Somalia in particular is the main recipient of this none Somali made solutions package! That is why they fail every time foreigners packaged them for some thing based on the interest of the foreign entities that made the (peace) package for them!
That is the wrong way to travel by! They saw that many times! But they are repeating this idiocy again in Djibouti for the 15th time! This has to be changed. To do so the people must be changed and of course the venue must be changed as well! Otherwise, same old, same old! The merry-go-round in motion a gain!
Somalia has the opportunity to ask her sister Somaliland, “How did you do it?”
”How did you resolve clan differences and established peace and established government institutions, ‘je-llo’ as they are?”
”How did you do conflict resolutions and managed conflicts with out reaching out the guns, and with out travelling to foreign countries to clean your house”!
The right, practical and pragmatic way to travel in this journey is to look inwards not out words. Reach out sisterly Somaliland. Ask her to help resolve the corrosive Somalia problems in the Somali way, under the Somali tree!
Recognize each other, cooperate each other and coexist as two sisterly states with peace and prosperity. And with open borders, any thing else is loose of time and effort.
“Egad” group would not like this; the UN would not like this. For get about the AU! The Ali Mahdi, Abdulkasim,and Abdillahi Yussuf mindset would not like it. For get about the fanatics, but the Somali people of both sides of the peninsula would like it for their survival and existence. The alternate is to be in a never-ending circle of demonism, destruction and shame. It is ‘either or’ scenario for Somalia in particular!
Somalia and Somaliland and the Somali hood in general have gone missing in the real world!
The world is not serious about them any more except the neighboring countries and the UNISOM. Both entities fish there! They opened shop there; they promote their projects and agendas in conjunction with the corrupted unconscionable leaders of the Somali states. Somali idiots who happened to rule Somalia danced with the ‘Egad’ and UNISOM interests! They followed the money they buy and sell lies in the market of lies!
The two Somali states are with out series commitments to their people, however in relative comparison Somaliland is with no question in a better situation than sisterly Somalia even when they have the same old “Afwanian” mindset, running their affairs wrongly!
It is the people of Somaliland that made the difference and not good governance there!
Somaliland, which was the mother of the union of the two Somali states in 1960, divorced Somalia unceremoniously not for the fun of it but for obvious well-known reasons. Unfortunately but expectedly Somalia did not grasp the reality even when they were the cause of the divorce! The right people to grasp the reality on the ground are not there yet!
They chose to live in their own fantasy world, because Somalia never had a real conscionable and a pragmatic leadership. All they had were thugs who followed one after the other! (In this paper I don’t intend to dwell on the reasons caused that divorce, a different entire dilemma)
Here no body owns any body but every Somali is the brother of the other.
Somalia was not and is not a victim of natural disaster beyond any body’s control. She is a victim of her own people. She is a victim of an arrogant, ignorant collection of idiots who grabbed power in mysterious unconscionable ways and means. She is a victim of IMD. (Somaliland shares the lack of conscionable leadership)
That Para-normal entity destroyed the Somali Republic first, then Somalia second. The so-called leaders who followed falsehood and lived in denial or in an absolute ignorance of the world order led the Somali peninsula in disaster from beginning to end, to present!
Unless and until the emptiness in leadership is addressed and until those kind of monsters with ‘Afwainian thinking and mindset are changed Somalia will never change, Nor Somaliland for this matter.
Changing remnants of Siyad Barre who are driving Somalia and Somaliland in reverse on a mountain cliff is the right thing to do first and second. Change an idiot and bring another is like changing Abdulkasim with Abdillahi Yussuf! We saw the result of that. We have seen that show. It did not work.
A gutsy, visionary, pragmatic, young fresh mind is what is needed in both Somalia and Somaliland. But it must be Somali made and in Somalia territory. Substituting the wrong man with a wrong man was the game ‘Egad’ countries played all along, all these times!
Now is the time Somalia should sit under the tree, them selves alone and no foreigners and collect the pieces of their house (what is left of it) and put them in order. They must try the Somali land way with out the interference of the Egad group. Somalia may call her sister Somaliland from time to time for help. They have to refrain the handout, the mean allowance foreigners give them during conferences while they fish in the troubled water of Somalia!
It is said that ‘if you are in a hole don’t dig even deeper’ Somalia must come out of that hole she dug her self, breath fresh air and see the world and how the world works with out ‘Egad’ countries and with out travelling to foreign countries for helping self!
No need to spread Somalia’s problems over to the region
Change the mindset that destroyed Somali Republic, first then Somalia second.
Avoid to mess-up with peaceful Somaliland although Somaliland shares with Somalia the empty-headed-milk the cow for self- type of ‘Afwainian’ mind-set clique!
Somaliland people are there to help should help is asked by sister Somalia. We are brothers and sisters after all. Don’t forget- No body owns no body! Somalians must wash their head from that nonsense.
Somaliland claimed that she divorced Somalia by virtue of being the mother of the failed union, when the union failed, but she never claimed that she owned Somalia. Somalia must wake up from its dilution and better do the same then move on. Other than that Somalia will remain in circle until she dies in circle and ‘the enemy will laugh all the way to the washroom who ever the enemy is!
It will be the interest of every state in the area (Somalia, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somaliland, Kenya), and even beyond to let the countries in the region not to undermine each other but to coexist and work together.
