PLANNED ROLL-OUT OF SERVICE IN GABON ENABLED BY REDKNEE'S CONVERGENT BILLING AND MOBILE MONEY SOLUTIONS

TORONTO, March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Redknee Solutions Inc. (TSX: RKN) , a leading provider of mission-critical software and solutions for communications service providers, today announced that Bintel, a fast-growing telecommunications service provider based in Bahrain and rolling out services in Africa, will deploy Redknee's Turnkey Converged Billing and Mobile Money solutions.

The deal will enable Bintel to differentiate its offering and provide an enhanced subscriber experience when it extends its mobile service in Gabon later this year. With these solutions, the new West African wireless operator will quickly be rolling out advanced personalized services to its subscribers at a reduced delivery cost, bringing value add to the highly penetrated market of Gabon.

"We are excited about Bintel's selection of Redknee's market-leading, turnkey converged billing solution. We look forward to a long-term, strategic partnership with the Bintel Group, and will support its success when services are launched in Gabon," said Redknee CEO Lucas Skoczkowski. "At Redknee, we are continuing our investment in the high growth markets of Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific to support the execution of our growth strategy."

Redknee's Turnkey Converged Billing solution for prepaid and postpaid voice, data, and messaging delivers a functionally-rich platform that extends beyond basic rating, charging and billing models, enabling operators to differentiate service offerings in competitive markets. The real-time solution optimizes and improves the overall subscriber service experience - from provisioning, real-time rating and charging, billing and customer care, to providing the tools that allow for fast and flexible pricing, bundling and launching of individualized promotions and new services.

Redknee's Mobile Money Airtime Reseller enables voucherless, prepaid wireless airtime top-up, and addresses the needs of many high-growth network operators and their subscribers. Historically, the purchase of prepaid top-up minutes has largely occurred through a physical voucher-based distribution system, which can prove difficult to support in remote, rural regions. Voucherless top-ups are completed through the electronic, mobile-to-mobile transfer of minutes from a local reseller to the subscriber, boosting the productivity and efficiency of all entities involved in these services.

"Redknee's experience in meeting aggressive timelines and helping wireless operators attract underserved or unpenetrated segments with value-based pricing and service offerings were key in Bintel's decision to deploy Redknee's solutions," said Alawi Baroum, Bintel's CEO. "Redknee's reputation for positively impacting and enhancing the subscriber experience and helping wireless operators drive revenue and profitability, especially in high growth markets, made Redknee the ideal partner for Bintel as we bring our customer-centered services to Gabon."

Bintel has quickly emerged as a fast-growing telecommunications service provider in West Africa, with expanding market share in the Central African Republic and Somaliland. Bintel recently announced plans to significantly increase its Africa footprint in the next two years by foraying into at least three new markets including Gabon, and has pledged USD 250 million for investment in the region as part of its strategic expansion.
