Hargeysa, Somaliland, April
11, 2009 (SL Times) – A meeting and workshop to discuss the situation of
education in primary and intermediate schools was held in Hargeysa’s
Mansoor hotel this week.
The meeting was jointly organized by the ministry of education and Save
the Children (Denmark). Among the topics discussed in the meeting was
how to prevent students from dropping out of school.
The meeting was attended by the Director General of the Ministry of
Education, Mr. Ali Abdi Odowa, representatives from the University of
Hargeysa, Save the Children (Denmark and UK), and Somaliland’s media.
