Borama, Somaliland, May 16, 2009 (SL Times) – Dahabshil, a remittances transfer company opened a new building in Borama, Awdal region. The celebration of the inauguration of the new building that houses the company was held in a widely attended ceremony in Rays Hotel. Among those present were the the Governor of Awdal Region, Mohamud Sheikh Abdillahi, the Director of Dahabshil, Abdirashid Farah, the representative of Dahabshil in Borama, Ismail Rirash, Sultans, scholars and other distinguished guests.
The representative of Dahabshil in Borama, Ismail Rirash spoke at the ceremony and touched upon the various stages that the company went through since it opened an office in Borama about ten years ago. Mr. Rirash pointed out that Dahabshil Company does not just take money from people but invests back in the people and contributes in the fields of health and development.
The Director of Dahabshil, Abdirashid Farah, also spoke at the ceremony and explained how Dahabshil participates in in peace and development in the community and the international level of its financial activities.
Other speakers included the Governor of Awdal, Mahamuud Sheekh Abdilaahi Ige, Vice-chairman of Amud University, Ahmed Abdillahi Boqore, the Vice-Chairman of Eelo-American University, and the famous poet Baarleex.
Dahabshil opened three new locations (Maroodi Jeex, Gebilay, Awdal) on the same day (May 11, 2009), as mentioned in a press release issued by Dahabshil company.
