Somaliland, May 16, 2009 (SL Times) – Somaliland's local government has
started a project to fix a 4 km road that stretches from Muhammad Moge
neighborhood and passes east of Star Hotel.
Hargeysa’s Mayor, Eng. Hussein Mahamud Jiir and members of Hargeysa’s
city council went on an inspection tour to check the project's progress.
Speaking about the road, the mayor said, "this project is part of the
combined efforts of the government and the people whose cooperation has
been increasing in the last few years."
The mayor added that they intend to continue with this approach of
focusing on a different neighborhood every three months for the purpose
of fixing existing roads and charting new ones.
The representative of the Mohamud Haybe neighborhood, members of the
city council, and neighborhood's committee expressed their appreciation
and thanks for the project.
After the Mahamud Haybe road is finished, Ahmad Dagah neighborhood is
next in line.
