Buroa, Somaliland, May 23,
2009 (SL Times) – Somaliland’s police arrested three men suspected of
terrorism. According to reports from Buroa, the three men were being
monitored by Somaliland’s security for a few days prior to their arrest.
The suspects were apprehended in the outskirts of Buroa, and are now
being held along with their two Landcruiser vehicles by Somaliland’s
security in Buroa.
The names of the arrested men have not yet been released, but they were
said to originate from both Somaliland and Puntland and have links with
al-Shabab, an al-Qaida affiliated terrorist organization.
Since the October multiple terrorist attacks, Somaliland anti-terrorism
security measures have been stepped up.
