Some In Qaeda Leave Pakistan For Somalia And Yemen

Bonn, Germany, June 13, 2009 (SL Times) – The Chairman of Haatuf Media Network, Mr Yusuf A. Gabobe and Nicole Stremlau of Oxford University gave a talk at an international conference in Bonn Germany about the role of Somaliland’s media in the coming presidential election. 1200 reporters, representing 100 countries listened to this discussion which was sponsored by Deutsche Welle, a news organization that includes both radio and T.V and broadcasts in 40 languages.
Gabobe and Stremlau focused on how the media could play a positive and vital role in the coming election which will take place under different circumstances than the previous ones, and how to avoid the disastrous performances of some of the African media such as the performance of some of the Kenya media during the 2007 election.
Mr Gabobe suggested to the management of Deutsche Welle to consider adding Somali language broadcasts to their programming, and the management said they will consider his proposal.
At the end of the talk, many journalists expressed to Gabobe and Stremlau, their interest in covering Somaliland’s election.
