Somaliland, June 27, 2009 (SL Times) – Eight grade students and level 4
students of high school sat for exams on June 20th for the 2008/2009
exams. 11,294 students took part in the exam from Somaliland’s
intermediate and high schools. This is the largest number of students
since Somaliland’s restoration of its independence in 1991. The teachers
were transferred from their regions to other regions in order to prevent
cheating.
In a press conference at the National Examinations Office, the Minister
of State for Education, Mr Mohamud Garaad (Qow-dhegayste) had announced
the beginning of the exams.
The exams concluded on Thursday.
