Hargeysa, Somaliland, August 22, 2009 (SL Times) – A high level delegation led by the Ethiopian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr Tekeda Alemu arrived in Hargeysa on Aug.19.
Somaliland’s government put the visit in the context of the normal exchange of visits by Somaliland and Ethiopian officials. High on the list of the Ethiopian minister’s agenda are issues of trade and security. But there is little doubt that the visit also has something to do with the current knotty political situation in Somaliland.
Dr Tekede Alemu met with President Dahir Rayale Kahin as well as the chairmen of the two opposition parties.
