Las Anod Building Its Biggest Mosque

Las Anod, Somaliland, September 5, 2009 (SL Times) – The city of Las Anod is in the process of building its biggest mosque. So far, the first floor was finished. According to Hassan Dirie Jama of Afnugaal.com, the mosque was originally built more than 70 years ago but its reconstruction began earlier this year. The construction of the mosque is managed by a committee. Mr to Hassan Dirie Jama appealed to those who were born in the region and all Somalis who want to do a good deed for their after life, to contribute to this project by contacting the Committee for the reconstruction of Las Anod’s mosque.
Once its reconstruction is over, the mosque will be one of the biggest Somali mosques and will accommodate thousands of people.
