London, UK, September 12, 2009 – Usain Bolt might be the world’s fastest
man – but this beast of a sprinter knocks spots off his time.
Sarah the cheetah is shown becoming the fastest land mammal by running
100 meters in an incredible 6.13 seconds, a good three seconds ahead of
the giant Jamaican. Chasing a toy lure, eight-year-old Sarah hit 60mph.
Cathryn Hilker, 78, who set up yesterday’s trial at Cincinnati Zoo in
the US, said: “She made three attempts and smashed the record on the
second time of asking.” So there’s one big cat who should be feline
rather proud....
