Somaliland, September 12, 2009 (SL Times) – A delegation led by the the
UN Secretary General’s Representative Ahmad Ould Abdallah visited
Somaliland on Sept.10, 2009. He was met at the airport by Somaliland
Foreign Minister Abdillahi Mohammed Dualeh. Although Somaliland falls
within his portfolio, Mr Ahmad Ould Abdallah has not been to Somaliland
for quite some time.
The UN Secretary General’s Representative is in Hargeysa in part to help
in resolving the disputes between Somaliland’s government and the
opposition parties. Mr Ahmad Ould Abdallah met with Somaliland President
Dahir Rayale Kahin, the heads of the opposition parties KULMIYE and UCID
as well as the heads of both parliament and the Upper House.
