First Batch Of Students Graduate From Admas University College

Hargeysa, Somaliland, September 26, 2009 (SL Times) – Two hundred and thirty five students received their graduation degrees from Admas University. The graduation was attended by Vice President Ahmed Yusuf Yasin, the Minister of Education, Hassan Mahmud Warsame (Gadhweyne), the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdillahi Muhammad Duale, the Chairman of Kulmiye, Ahmed Sillanyo, the Chairman of UCID, Faysal Ali Warabe, the head of Ethiopia’s Trade Office, Ambassador Wubeshet Demissiemb, the Chancellor of Admas University’s Addis Ababa branch, Mr Molla Tesegay, the President of Admas University’s Hargeysa branch, Mr Ahmed Dahir (Adnan), students, parents and distinguished guests.
Somaliland’s Vice president congratulated the students, teachers and administrators of Admas University for their hard work. He said the students are embarking on their journey of learning which has no end, but he also warned that while students at this university are busy acquiring positive knowledge there are some misguided youths elsewhere who were trained in destructive acts such as blowing themselves up and who recently entered Somaliland. The vice president stressed that the government is vigilantly pursuing those potential suicide bombers but added that the government needs citizens’ help in providing it with information regarding those trained killers.
Kulmiye’s Chairman, Ahmed Sillanyo also congratulated the students and wished them great success. He also thanked Ethiopia for contributing to Somaliland’s progress. Likewise, UCID Chairman, Faysal Ali Warabe praised the graduating citizens and pointed to the historical connection between Somaliland and Ethiopia.
