Buroa,
Somaliland, September 26, 2009 (SL Times) – The city of Buroa got its
third bridge on May 20, 2009. The bridge was financed by Dahabshiil
Money Transfer Company. The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by the
Minister of State for Industry, Ahmed Ali Ubahle who praised Dahabshiil
Company for the great role it plays in advancing the public interests.
The minister reminded the audience that Buroa is the place where the
restoration of Somaliland’s sovereignty was first announced. He also
praised Buroa’s people for their commitment to peace and urged them to
make that commitment even stronger.
The Mayor of Buroa, Mahamud Ahmed Hassan (M. Dheglab), also thanked
Dahabshiil for building the bridge and pleaded with the company to help
with fixing the Ceelgoni Bridge which was built during the British
colonial administration and is in dire need of repair.
Other speakers for the occasion included the Manager of Dahabshiil’s
Eastern Region, Nuh Said Duale, and Sultan Osman Sultan Ali Sultan Madar.
