How Can Some One Try Destroying Our Production (Somaliland) By Blundering Around In The Dark?!!” |

|
By Dr. Abdi Elmi Obseyeh In Somaliland life was calm, routine and made a sense of peace and happiness. We seldom think of what we have, but we always think of what we lack. Our experts in psychology declare that 90% of the things in our lives are right and the rest 10% are wrong. People can feel happiness if they concentrate on the 90% which they have ,but if they want to feel worried and get stomach ulcers they may concentrate on the 10% of which they lack. We all know that voter registration in Somaliland had got many errors and progressive conflicts and arguments of chaos.. . When all the Somaliland regions had finished their voter registration the National electoral Commission (N.E.C.)had found out that the server can only catch 20% of those double/ or multiple voter registration. This meant that 80% of the voter registration was unidentified (fingerprints and facial recognition was not identified). Interpeace who was the independent Agency responsible for this voter registration had written a proposal note to N.E.C.. This proposal consisted of three options; 1. That the voter registration of the regions resulted 1.200.000 in which the Server only identified 20% of those multiple voter registration.. 2. To wait some more months to resolve the problem of the server so as to get 90% of the voter registration. 3. .The three parties should decide; a) to accept the result of this server–in which 80% if the voter registration was not identified. Or b) to cancel this voter registration and announce without a voter registration the near presidential election. The N.E.C. had discussed this issue between them and being the highest body declared that –the registration voter was seriously in great loss 80% (with no identification of fingerprints and facial recognition).and Therefore had concluded that the near presidential election will beone without a voter registration.. As soon as the N.E.C. had announced that the presidential election will be done without a voter registration INTERPEACE had again interrupted and produced the corrupted list of the voter registration and rewarded the two opposition parties for a certain reason. Again the unrealistic Information of the INTERPEACE and the relationship of the opposition parties had appeared. None of our elders, suldans. religious leaders and our keen Intellectuals can hardly stay back but fortunately rushed in to act as mediators and began consulting the concerned three parties. Unfortunately the leader of Kulmiye party refused to meet while UDUB and UCID party leaders accepted. In all the following weeks there was an intense feeling of fear ,threats and unfair demonstrations in which Kulmiye party had backed up. I discovered that none of the opposition parties had relaxed a bit (sometimes the chairman of UCID party does ) and felt a sense of peace. If they keep thinking and worrying about the presidential seat; their minds will Jump here and there and will lose their power to concentrate in one problem. It is the history which brings us many famous people struggling for a feeling of importance. It is the desire which makes you drive the latest vehicle, the desire of the young boys/girls to join gangs and involving criminal activities. Therefore, I am not surprised if our opposition leaders are trying to destroy our production (Somaliland) and kill our young students in their campaigns. On reading one of my favorite novels, “how to stop worrying and start living” by Dale Carnegie a psychologist doctor. I found that 50% of our problems can be corrected by answering the following four questions: 1. What is the problem? 2. What is the cause of the problem? 3. What are the possible solutions to the problem? 4. What solutions do you suggest? Who rescued Somaliland? Thanks to God, when crises was about to explode the foreign friends of Somaliland including; USA, Britain, EU, Ethiopia and other friends had stepped in to save the young flourishing state of Somaliland. The following are the six (6) points which the three parties had finally agreed and signed. 1. Changes in the national electoral commission members should be made. 2. The election server should be re-installed and technical exports will come to Somaliland to fix the server’s problem. 3. The date of the election will be set by the electoral commission and the technical experts since it is a technical matter. 4. The three parties should work together. 5. This election as well as future elections should be based on voter-registration. 6. The three political parties should issue a joint statement of understanding agreement. I would conclude my article a statement which the secretary of Abraham Lincoln said while the president was dying-; “There lies the most perfect ruler of men that the world has ever seen”. I hope our opposition leaders would change their attitude and would learn the method of President Lincoln’s success in dealing with people. Long life Somaliland. Bye- .Dr. Abdi .E.Obseyeh Somaliland
