Ethiopia Upgrades Its Trade Office In Somaliland To A Consulate

Hargeysa, Somaliland, October 31, 2009 (SL Times) – Ethiopia has upgraded the status of its trade office in Somaliland to a consulate. This new and important development was announced in a press conference held by Somaliland Foreign Minister, Mr Abdillahi Muhammad Duale.
Speaking to the media the foreign minister said the Ethiopia’s new representative had arrived in Somaliland to replace the previous one and “the status of Ethiopia’s trade office was upgraded to that of a consulate.”
Mr Abdillahi Muhammad Duale added that the upgrading of the status of Ethiopia’s representation in Somaliland is an indication of the excellent relations between Somaliland and Ethiopia.
The name of the new Ethiopian representative is Berhe Tesfey, and his title is consul general.
