Somaliland, October 31, 2009 (SL Times) – The seven members of
Somaliland’s new election commission took the oath of office in a
ceremony at the presidential palace. The swearing of the commission
members was supervised by the Chairman of Somaliland’s Supreme Court,
Muhammad Ismail Hirsi (Oomane).
President Dahir Rayale Kahin as well as the chairmen of the two other
political parties attended the ceremony and they all expressed
confidence in the new commission and wished them well in executing their
heavy responsibilities.
President Dahir Rayale Kahin specifically advised them to consult with
each other and work as a team.
