Hargeysa, Somaliland, November 14, 2009 (SL Times) –
Somaliland Minister of Tourism Abdirizaq Waberi Roble said that
Somaliland government plans to encourage tourism in Somaliland, and
towards this end, it has held discussions with Somaliland businessmen so
that they would invest in tourist spots in the country. Mr Abdirizaq
Waberi Roble also denied a news item published by the Somali language
newspaper Haatuf which said that the government sold public land to
Djiboutian businessmen. The minister explained that Somaliland
businessmen, specifically Saeed Geedi and Abd al-Qadir Hashi Elmi, are
going to invest in tourism in Sad al-Din Island.
