How The IOG Weathers The Political Storm Of The Neighboring Somaliland?

Somaliland Election Commission, Representatives Of Political Parties And Donors Meet

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, November 28, 2009 (SL Times) – A meeting was held in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa between Somaliland election commission, representatives of political parties, Interpeace and donors.
Earlier this week, Somaliland commission members and representatives of Somaliland's three political parties were flown to Addis Ababa to get training on conducting elections and to meet with donors and election experts.
The donors to Somaliland's election who are also called the Democratization Steering Committee are: USA, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, UK and the EU.
It is noteworthy that Interpeace, an organization that had worked with Somaliland on preparing for the presidential election, and that was expelled from Somaliland has participated in the meeting and one of its high officials has visited Somaliland this week. But it is not yet clear whether all the differences between Somaliland's government and Interpeace have been resolved.
