Children's Rights In Borama

Borama, Somaliland, November 28, 2009 (SL Times) – A big celebration of the international children's rights day was celebrated in Borama on Nov.24th, 2009. Among those who took part in the celebration were high officials from Awdal region, Borama city, educators, about 200 school children, including deaf students, and street children.
The Vice chairman of Awdal Region, Abdi Nur Sugal, addressed the gathering about the importance of children and defending their rights since they are not in a position to defend themselves.
Ismail Yahye who spoke in the name of Save the children (Denmark) about the necessity of protecting children's rights these days since assaults on children have been increasing.
Borama's Mayor, Abdirahman Shide Bile and Dahir Mohamud Haddi (the Chairman of Awdal's education) also addressed the gathering.
