Sheikh Sharif Admits That His Troops Sell Weapons And Ammunitions To Their Enemies

Mogadishu, Somalia, December 12, 2009 (SL Times) – Sheikh Sharif has finally admitted to the widely known fact that the arms and ammunition he receives from foreign countries to fight terrorists end up in the hands of these same terrorists. Sheikh Sharif implicitly admitted this in a speech to 500 new recruits to his army when he warned the new recruits against selling their weapons and ammunitions to their enemies, saying that if they sold their weapons and ammunitions to their enemies, they will be defeated. Sheikh Sharif told the troops to get ready for a tough fight and urged them to defend their country.
In an interview with the Voice of America’s Somali Service on Dec.10, 2009, Dr Ali Abdillahi, a Nairobi-based expert on security and strategy confirmed that troops in Sheikh Sharif’s army sell their arms to their enemies. “We know that it happens today inside Somalia,” said Dr Ali Abdillahi.
