Hargeysa, Somaliland, December 19, 2009 (SL Times) – Somaliland Police forces have seized a sack full of explosives left near a bridge that connects between Burao and Sheikh in Sahil region.
According to Abdillahi Ismail Ali (Irro), Somaliland Minister of Interior who addressed the journalists at Ministry offices in Hargeysa, the explosives were left in the bridge near Dubur village at time when top Somaliland officials including ministers and opposition leaders were attending the inauguration of Qoyta town.
Irro said that a herds boy has informed the Police about the sack, who together with a UK de-mining agency called Hallo Trust successfully secured the explosives.
