Second Livestock Inspection Facility

Hargeysa, Somaliland, January 16, 2010 – (SL Times) – Somaliland Livestock Minister Dr Idris Abdi laid the foundation stone for a livestock health inspection facility at the port of Berbera. The facility was financed by Saudi businessman al-Jabiri who also financed a previous facility.
The livestock minister said that the livestock inspection facility will meet international standards and that all Somalis are welcome to use it for exporting their livestock.
Gulf International won the contract to build the inspection facility, and their spokesman Hassan al-Hussein said this facility is bigger than the previous and will be able to handle 1.5 million livestock.
