British Delegation Visits Somaliland

Hargeysa, Somaliland, January 23, 2010 (SL Times) – A delegation from the British embassy visited Hargeysa this week. The delegation was led by the British Deputy Ambassador to Ethiopia, His Excellency Mr. John Marshal.
According to a press statement released to the media by the spokesman for Somaliland’s presidency, the purpose of the visit was to strengthen relations between Somaliland and Britain and to see first hand how preparations for the coming Somaliland Presidential election are going.
During their visit, the British delegation met with President Dahir Rayale Kahin, the foreign minister, the minister for resettlement, the minister of state for internal affairs, and the opposition parties.
John Marshal was accompanied by another official from the British embassy, Mr. Matt Wood.
