United Arab Emirates Company Does Study On Somaliland Consumers

Hargeysa, Somaliland, January 30, 2010 (SL Times) – A study that measures the level of satisfaction of consumers of the telecommunication company Telesom was unveiled on Jan 25th at Imperial hotel. The study took two months and was done by Professor Muhammad Yusuf Hassan (Iqra) and al-Ayn University which is located in the United Arab Emirates.
According to Muhammad Yusuf Hassan, the study found that customers of Telesom have expressed higher satisfaction with the services they received from the company than customers of some of the leading European and American telecommunication companies.
Muhammad Yusuf Hassan revealed that 90% of the customers said that they are very satisfied with Telesom’s services such as Mobile phones, Lind line, Internet, and ZAAD. He also said he had trained 24 of Telesom’s staff so they would work according to the “customer satisfaction index” model.
After he finished his presentation, the audience asked Professor Muhammad Yusuf Hassan several questions all of which he answered.
The Vice president of Hargeysa University, Mubarak Ibrahim Aar, who was present at this event announced that the university of Hargeysa will soon graduate its first batch of students who majored in statistics.
The Minister of Planning, Mr.. Ali Ibrahim Muhammad (Ali Sanyare) congratulated Telesom for not only commissioning such a study but also for revealing its results. “If we don’t evaluate what we are doing, we cannot know if we are moving forward or backward,” added the minister.
