SOLJA’s Vice Chairman Passes Away

Hargeysa, Somaliland, January 30, 2010 (SL Times) – The Vice Chairman of the Somaliland Journalist’s Association (SOLJA), Mr. Harir Farah Duale, passed away on Wednesday of a heart attack. Mr. Harir Farah Duale had just gotten out of a mosque and was on his way home when he suddenly had a heart attack and died immediately.
Harir Farah Duale was born in Buro in 1964. He was one of Somaliland’s major journalists, a one time editor of Maandeeq newspaper, and a founding member of the Journalist’s association ((SOLJA).
Community leaders, parliamentarians, sultans, ordinary citizens and a large number of journalists took part in his funeral ceremony. His body was laid to rest in Nasa-Hablood cemetery.
The Somaliland Times sends its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and to all Somalilanders.
