Chairman Of Somaliland’s Upper House Warns Against Terrorist Threat

Hargeysa, Somaliland, February 27, 2010 (SL Times) – The Chairman of Somaliland’s Upper House, the Honorable Suleiman Mohamud Adan, warned against terrorists who are trying to destabilize the country through exploding bombs that have killed and wounded several people.
The Chairman said this at the end of the current session of the Upper House, adding that only through unity will the country defeat the terrorists.
According to Haatuf newspaper, Mr. Suleiman Mohamud Adan also admitted that there were serious divisions in the Upper House but those problems have been resolved. The Chairman urged the Upper House to play a vigorous role in ensuring that the coming elections take place in a peaceful environment.
At the end of the session, the Upper House began a 42-day recess.
