SNM Celebrates 29th Anniversary

Hargeysa, Somaliland, April 10, 2010 (SL Times) – The Somaliland National Movement (SNM) celebrated its 29th anniversary on April 6th at Hargeysa’s Freedom Park (Beerta Xoriyada).
The event was organized by Somaliland Veterans Organization (SOOYAAL) and was attended by the heads of political parties, SNM leaders, veterans, civil society organizations and ordinary citizens.
In his opening speech, the Chairman of SOOYAAL Hassan Abdi Muhumed was critical of the inadequate level of participation. He also urged the Somaliland government to include the study of SNM’s history in the school curriculum.
Among the main speakers were the former Chairman of the SNM and current Chairman of KULMIYE Ahmed Sillanyo, the Chairman of UCID Faysal Ali Warabe, the Secretary General of UDUB Jama Yasin Farah, the Deputy Minister of Justice Yusuf Ise Tallabo, Eng. Mohammed Hashi and Professor Abdisalam Yasin.
